Description

WingSwept is an award-winning, employee-owned technology services company seeking a highly skilled Application System Administrator to support our web-based Case Management and Tracking System (CMTS) and other key internal applications. This role sits within our Application Development division and blends system administration, DevOps, customer support, and technical problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

CMTS & Application Support

  • Install, configure, and update CMTS software in both AWS hosting environments and customer Windows OS environments.
  • Assist customers with server migrations, including application and data migration tasks.
  • Perform SQL query development, custom report creation, and data transformation for system migrations.

AWS & DevOps

  • Manage AWS infrastructure tasks including:
    • Environment provisioning, tagging, and patching
    • Backup configuration, monitoring, and restore testing
    • Routine environment health checks
  • Support DevOps workflows using GitLab, Terraform, and industry-standard CI/CD practices.

Security & Compliance

  • Conduct security scans, identify vulnerabilities, and execute or coordinate remediation.
  • Participate in internal security audits and collaborate closely with the Information Security Committee to reduce organizational and client risks.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with client data and system information.

Technical Operations & Engineering Support

  • Produce and maintain detailed internal and customer-facing documentation.
  • Offer technical architecture recommendations to senior developers.
  • Manage short-term and complex technical projects.
  • Support escalated customer inquiries for both internal and external users.
  • Install and renew SSL certificates in customer Windows environments.
  • Perform occasional data entry tasks related to projects.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies for internal and client use.
  • Serve as an all-around engineering resource wherever needed.
  • Identify operational risks and route them to appropriate teams for mitigation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must pass be able to pass Department of Defense and corporate background checks and drug screening. U.S. citizenship is required.
  • High school diploma required; two years of post-secondary education preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite at our Garner, NC office in a 40-hour work week.
  • Five or more years of IT or related experience.
    • AWS hosting environments and customer Windows OS environments.
    • SQL query development, custom report creation.
    • DevOps workflows using GitLab, Terraform, and industry-standard CI/CD practices.
    • AWS infrastructure tasks.

    • SSL certificates experience.
    • Security scans and security audits experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
